During the time when therenaissance started to begin, trade began to pick up and become more popular in Italy. Traders brought in money, thus allowing merchants to buy and sell more items. Another catalyst of the renaissance was the invention of the printing press. This allowed writers to print and distrubute information very quickly.

Machiavellian Leader
A modern day Machiavellian leader is poll pot in Cambodia. He fits with Machiavelli's quote,"it is greater to be feared than love." Polpot was an extreme Communist of Cambodia. This man killed thousands of his own people. He definitely wanted to be feared amongst him people than to be loved. I think he wanted to be like this to seem powerful and not weak.
Life as a merchant during the Renaissance
My name is Jerry and I am a merchant that sells used shoes at the downtown market. Not a lot of people go to my shop because of the location. Recently, other who have been here in the market with me have been getting sick. I heard a rumor that it was called the lack plague. I have witnessed people falling over and then suddenly dying. I fear that my family will be next.
I think it would be a good idea if I went ahead and packed up my family to move else where. I might try to get a job elsewhere at an actual company. I heard of the Medici family through a costumer. They gave me information about the whole family. I'm going to try to get a job at one of their banks. Maybe then I can take care of my family.
